Dr. Leonora Muhammad, DNP BSN AGPCNP-BC CCHP Founder, President & CEO
Dr. Leonora Muhammad, DNP is President & CEO of SiiN Institute. With a extreme passion for healthcare, career development and progression, she founded the SiiN Institute to provide quality and professional training to those interested in becoming licensed certified nurses.
Growing up in the inner city of St. Louis in the Ville neighborhood, she understands how important education can be to advancing in life and providing support to your family and friends. Starting out as a candy stripper (volunteer) at Barnes Hospital in 1994 then nurse aide, she found her passion in nursing. Studying abroad in Germany, Switzerland, and France during her BSN program and seeing the importance of the nursing profession, she wants to help young girls, boys as well as adults "spark" their interest in nursing.
Dr. Muhammad is also the Senior VP & Associate Chief Nursing Officer of Patient Care Services for YesCare. She is described as the nurse motivationalist, mentor, international and keynote speaker, healthcare consultant, and best selling author. She has over 21 years experience as a nurse and 17 years specializing in correctional healthcare. Dr. Muhammad started out as a CNA, then obtained her LPN Diploma from Sanford Brown College, ASN from Chamberlain University, BSN from the University of Missouri St. Louis and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Brandman University in Irvine California. Dr. Muhammad is a former adjunct clinical professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and instructor at Kaplan University NCLEX Review.
She is the 4th Chapter President of the Black Nurses Association of Greater St. Louis, National Secretary of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), trustee on National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC) CCHP Board of Trustees and board member for the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank. She is a published author and the recipient of numerous awards such as the as the NBNA Under 40 Award and Administrative Nurse of the Year Awards as well as the University of Missouri-St. Louis Alumni Award. Dr. Muhammad was named a finalist of the Excellence in Nursing Award by St. Louis Magazine in 2019 was the 2nd recipient of the Young Professional Award awarded by NCCHC and the 2x Inspirational Award of Distinction by the BNA of Greater St. Louis.
